What IS a Wine Themed Cruise?
Wine themed cruises are river cruises only better; guests of these themed cruises are on the cruise for their shared love and interest of wine.
On every AmaWaterways wine themed cruise there is a special Wine Host & Sommelier on board. You are going to be treated to a menu of exclusive wines and culinary experiences that are designed to give you an even deeper immersion of the flavors of Europe. The wines served regularly are already fine wines but on a themed wine cruise there are feature wines and parings. Delicious!
Let’s chat for a second about the guests who are neutral about wine. For the guests that don’t have an interest in the wine at all, the river cruise continues to operate with all its amazing normal river cruise features and offerings. That is the beauty of AmaWaterways. If you or your traveling companion select to not participate in the wine themed events, no problem.
With AmaWaterways, tours are included in every port. Not just one but several so you can select what you want to do therefore personalizing your experience. On a wine themed river cruise, all the tours are open to everyone but in addition to the regular choice of offerings, there is a wine themed tour as well. For example, if you are cruising on the Europe’s Rivers & Castle Itinerary, your wine themed options include things like a Rothenburg City Tour with Wine Tasting or while in Rudesheim, a Gondola Ride and Wine Tasting. Even a visit to a Pretzel Bakery that includes a smoked beer tasting (burp).
A river cruise opens so many new doors. You are visiting several countries all in one trip (unpacking only once, bonus!) You will create so many memorable moments to take with you forever. Hiking in Petrisberg or a castle hike in Wertheim may be your thing. Some may choose a visit to an exclusive festival in Lahnsetein.
